Following allegations of unlawful charges, the Punjab Education Department has firmly prohibited private schools from collecting tuition fees from matriculating students for the months of March and April.

All district education officials have been instructed by Khalid Nazir Wattoo, the secretary of schools education, to ensure compliance and to caution schools against requesting upfront payments.

When he said, "Schools are not allowed to charge students for March and April," he made it clear that any institution that disobeyed the rules would face severe consequences.

But according to reports, several private schools have refused to give roll number slips to students who haven't paid their fees yet.

The education secretary promised that authorities will take the required actions to enforce the rule and that these concerns are being reviewed.

The Punjab Education Department is dedicated to reducing the financial strain on students and their families as the matriculation exams get underway on March 3. If schools are found to be charging extra fees, they will be disciplined.

These rules must be rigorously followed by all private schools. Any schools found to be in violation of these guidelines will face legal action.
