Schools in Pakistan are dealing with a major issue. Children are not being taught the skills they will need in the future by the system.

Over 60% of the lessons taught in Pakistan are out of date, according to a 2022 UNESCO report. Our textbooks don't keep up with the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and climate change.

In a single nation, this problem generates two distinct realities. Students in private schools utilize laptops and tablets. For the future, they are prepared.

However, 70% of Pakistani children attend government schools, where there is no technology.

Only 14% of government schools have a computer lab, according to Pakistan Education Statistics 2023. Fewer still have internet access. This implies that the majority of students are disconnected from the contemporary world.

Our teaching methods are another issue. The world is in need of innovative thinkers, not just fact-memorization experts.

Six-year-olds in countries like Singapore are taught computer coding. However, according to data from Alif Ailan (2023), digital learning is only available in 4% of our government schools.

Teachers also face challenges. They wish to help, yet they are not equipped. Only 12% of government teachers have received official computer training, according to the Education Department (2023).

Teachers are being asked to guide a generation of digital natives without the necessary training. Millions of youngsters will fall behind if we do not address this right away.
