National Curriculum Summit 2024 Concluded With Stress on STEM education

The National Curriculum Summit 2024 concluded on Wednesday with significant exchanges, deliberations, and suggestions for Pakistan's educational future.
The summit gathered officials, educators, and curriculum experts to discuss measures aimed at strengthening the country's educational system.
In his remarks, Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University in Islamabad, underlined the importance of a flexible and inclusive educational system.
He emphasized the importance of STEM education, which promotes the integration of problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity from each discipline to address real-world situations.
Dr. Shafqat Ali Janjua, Joint Educational Advisor at the National Curriculum Council, provided an update on curriculum reform progress, noting improvements in skill development, IT integration, and financial literacy, with a focus on cybersecurity.
He also thanked all of the guests, participants, and panelists for their participation and thoughtful suggestions.
On behalf of Federal Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani, he reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to the summit's reforms, as well as the implementation of new study schemes, subjects, academic streams, and the use of technology in education.
The summit also addressed issues in teaching approaches and the integration of new skills for the twenty-first century.
The summit's successful completion marks a significant step forward in Pakistan's educational reform journey, demonstrating a continuous commitment to developing a more inclusive and innovative education system.

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in partnership with the National Curriculum Council, will seek to implement the proposals made and guarantee that the country's education system matches the changing requirements of its people.
In his last remarks, Dr. Shafaq Ali Janjua, JEA, NCC, thanked all attendees for their passionate involvement in the summit.
