With a majority vote, the National Assembly on Friday approved a motion favoring for raising the age restriction and maximum number of attempts for Pakistan's Central Superior Services (CSS) test.

The resolution was proposed during the assembly session by Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Syada Nosheen Iftikhar, according to the news sources.

The resolution suggested increasing the number of permitted attempts from three to five and raising the age limit for qualified CSS candidates to 35 years old.

A highly competitive and prestigious exam, the CSS is administered annually by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) and is a prerequisite for entry into Pakistan's highest civil services, which include the Pakistan Administrative Service, Foreign Service, and Police Service.

As of the official cut-off date, candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 30, following current FPSC regulations. If a person is within the designated age range, they are also allowed to take the exam up to three times.

Nowadays, candidates must have a bachelor's degree or higher to take the CSS exam, and they must prepare well in both required and elective courses.
