The annual intermediate exams are set to start today throughout the exam boards in Sindh. The BIEK anticipates 126,500 candidates to participate in the exams.

Students in grades 11 and 12 will take the first part of the 2025 exams in a number of subjects, such as science, home economics, general science, pre-engineering, and pre-medical.

Furthermore, the tests will cover short subjects, benefit cases, extra subjects, grades, twelve papers (TP), and exceptional opportunities.

BIEK Examination Timetable

Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, and Home Economics students will take exams during the morning shift, which runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

There are expected to be over 92,000 students present for their papers during this shift. Over 34,500 applicants are taking their exams in the Science General category, and the evening shift will serve this group from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Overall, there are 182 testing locations this year, with 60 for the evening shift and 122 for the morning shift. 36 of these sites are vulnerable to potential security attacks, which has led to their classification as very sensitive.

Logistics and security

The Karachi Board has taken extensive steps to guarantee that the exams are administered smoothly. To provide a safe atmosphere for students and exam personnel, letters have been addressed to the Inspector General of Sindh Police, Commissioner Karachi, DIG Traffic Karachi, and K-Electric.

The 36 extremely sensitive centers have special security measures in place, and monitoring cells have been established to stop cheating and deal with any undesirable situations.

The board has established 16 special vigilance teams to monitor the exams in an attempt to prevent cheating. All district deputy commissioner offices now have complaint cells set up to handle any problems or complaints from employees or students.

The question papers are being safely delivered from the central board headquarters to the testing locations, and each one is identified by a distinct center code to guard against leaks. In the unlikely event that a paper leak occurs, the coding will assist in locating the breach's origin.

Health and safety measures

The Board has prepared for emergency medical services because temperatures are expected to increase during this time of year. Rescue 1122 has been asked to remain available in the event of heat-related emergencies or illnesses.

Additionally, the Board has asked that Section 144 be enforced in the vicinity of test locations in order to forbid the appearance of unauthorized persons and the operation of photocopy businesses in the area.

Furthermore, any cell phones or other electronic devices discovered in testing facilities will be seized.
