The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) results, has suggested that first-year students who did not pass the annual exams be given grace marks.

The committee's comprehensive report, which was delivered to Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah, analyzes the evaluation procedure, the general academic standing of the BIEK and its affiliated colleges, and the findings. The committee proposed that first-year students who failed the exam be given grace marks, which may range from 15 to 20 percent.

A review of the findings from other province-wide education boards was also suggested by the committee. The relevant assembly committee would soon make a decision based on the conclusions of this report, according to sources in the Sindh administration. The choice will have an impact on first-year students' involvement in the yearly exams, which start on April 15.

The committee was given the responsibility of looking into the surprisingly low BIEK scores—less than 30% of students passed. The VC of NED University, Dr. Sarosh Lodhi, served as the committee's leader.

The committee summoned 20 students who received A1 ratings on their matriculation examinations but failed the first-year exam. Just five of these students showed up with their parents. In front of their parents, the students' exam copies were reviewed, and it was discovered that some of them had made simple mistakes, like writing "Karachi" with a "C" rather than a "K."

Numerous flaws in the evaluation process were exposed in the committee's findings, including mistakes in mark totaling and challenges with data entry and tabulation. Given that the curriculum and the teaching staff designated by the government are the same throughout the region, the committee questioned why Karachi's results differed from those of other boards.

The committee recommended giving several disciplines more points: up to 20% for chemistry and 15% for math and physics. For Zoology, Botany, Islamic Studies, and Pakistan Studies, grace marks were not advised.
