Govt Approved Danish University of Emerging Technologies

The Danish University of Emerging Technologies has been approved by the federal government to be established in Sector H-16, Islamabad.

PM Shehbaz thanked Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa for enabling the transfer of £190 million to the national treasury during his remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony in Islamabad.

Speaking at a ceremony on Saturday for the site review of Daanish University of Emerging Sciences in Sector H-16 of Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that everyone was happy that 100 acres of land had been set aside for the university.

He said that he hoped Danish University would be on par with major universities such as Stanford, Oxford, MIT, and others, and that the first part of the university would open on August 14, 2026.

He stated that admittance to the university's various programs would be granted to students from all over the nation solely on the basis of merit.

In order to establish a trust, the government will first contribute Rs. 10 billion as seed money.

In order for the bright minds to be involved from the start, the prime minister stated that the names of the Daanish University board of governors had been finalized.

"The campus would have all the related facilities and be built with a red facade," he continued.

As per Minister for Planning and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, PM Shehbaz established the largest Global South educational endowment fund during his time as Punjab Chief Minister in the shape of Daanish schools.

In order to bridge the gap between academia and industry, he stated that Daanish University would be the next step in preparing the workforce for an industrial revolution. The university would also have the capacity to teach courses in artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, space sciences, and other cutting-edge technologies through applied research.

He said they would also look for international partnerships to transfer technology and make sure that this institution had entrepreneurs, inventors, and leaders in the field.
