Thousands of female instructors have yet to receive the promised scooters because the plan has not received any funding in the fiscal budget for 2025–2026.
The distribution of scooters to female educators throughout the province was previously announced by the School Education Department.
Although the provincial education minister publicly pledged to supply scooters to college and school instructors, no money was allocated for this reason in the most recent budget. As a result, a lot of female educators have been disappointed and frustrated.
Access to scooters would greatly ease their daily trip and assist in ensuring punctual arrival at schools, they said, urging the education minister to keep his word.
Punjab Textbook Shows Delhi’s Red Fort as Lahore Fort
The Punjab Curriculum, Training, and Assessment Authority (PECTA) has found an embarrassing mistake in their first-year chemistry textbook: a picture of India's Red Fort was mistakenly recognized as Shahi Qila in Lahore.
The picture is from a chapter about environmental pollution and how smog affects historical sites; however, it shows the Red Fort in Delhi rather than the Lahore Fort.
Currently used in Punjab's government schools, the textbook has come under heavy fire from historians and educational specialists who have denounced the textbook's seeming disregard for historical authenticity and cultural sensitivity.
PECTA officials have not yet offered a formal apology or explanation for the error.
The Minister of Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, has taken strong notice. To ascertain how the error happened, he has mandated a full investigation and promised that, upon completion of the inquiry, the appropriate actions will be taken.
