Pakistan's most anticipated cultural event, the Karachi Literature Festival (KLF), returns to Sindh's Karachi for its fifteenth year. On February 16–18, 2024, the Beach Luxury Hotel in Karachi will host a bustling festival of literature, art, and thought-provoking discourse.

The 15th KLF, with the theme “Sustainability: Words changing Mindsets,” will feature over 200 national and international speakers from 8 countries in 75 sessions on current affairs, education, the environment, literature, and the economy. Visitors may also expect 25 book releases, satire, theater, cinema screenings, and exhibitions.

The inaugural event on Friday, February 16th, is open to the public. British-Palestinian writer and lawyer Selma Dabbagh and Pakistani architect and activist Arif Hasan will speak. The talented poet Nighat Choudhry will then perform Faiz's poetry.

KLF will host Jordanian academic Joseph Massad, political scientist Dr. Martin Axmann, award-winning journalist Hasnain Kazim, renowned novelist and writer Mohsin Hamid, French journalist and novelist Kenize Mourad, fiction writer Claire Chambers, poets Michael Cirelli and Ronya Othman, Zehra Nigah and Kishwar Naheed, short story writer Noorul Huda Shah, and novelist Bina Shah. Legendary Iftikhar Arif ruled over political reforms, sustainability, Urdu poetry, and a large Mushaira.

Through insightful conversations on books, ethical governance, urban dynamics, comedy, storytelling, human rights, and sustainability, KLF programs will enrich guests' intellectual lives. Maleeha Lodhi's OUP book, "Pakistan: Search for Stability," will be launched.

In “Noor Jahan Suroor Jahan,” Nazia Ejaz Khan, Salima Hashmi, and Ahmed Ali Butt honor Madam Noor Jehan. Another session, “Sustainability and the Evolving New World Order,” will address stable, inclusive, and beneficial ideas.

As Crystal Edition celebrations close, distinguished scholars Najeeba Arif and Joseph Massad will provide keynote lectures honoring KLF literary icons. Qawal Najmuddin Saifuddin & Brothers will sing soulful Sufi Qawwali next.

Arshad Saeed Husain, Managing Director of OUP Pakistan, stressed the festival's role as a global bridge and encouraged attendees to have thought-provoking conversations that drive change. “The idea is to deliberate on finding solutions, not just talk about these important issues,” he said. I hope these three days of intellectual, scholarly, and thought leadership will focus on that. This festival shows the power of writing and its significance in community formation.

This is HBL's second year leading the Karachi Literature Festival (KLF), a celebration of intellectual and cultural interests, said Ali Habib, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. HBL believes that a growing economy, thriving community, and sustainable natural environment are essential to influencing and sustaining our communities. KLF shows our commitment to being “more than just a bank” by helping Pakistan's society.

For their assistance, festival organizers thank title sponsor Habib Bank Ltd. (HBL). They also thank Getz Pharma, NEO Paints, the British Council, the US Consulate and Lincoln's Corner, Goethe Institut, NBP Funds, UBL Funds, and Tapal. SMS Security's continuous support of KLF's position as Pakistan's top intellectual and cultural forum is much appreciated. The event, which Oxford University Pakistan (OUP) is hosting, continues to highlight the diversity of Pakistani society.

All fans are invited to join the Karachi Literature Festival on this intellectual excursion to celebrate words' transformative power and improve literature appreciation.
