You are investing in your future when you arrange a loan to attend the institution. Students in Pakistan, however, do not have easy access to university loans, in contrast to those in the US.

For personal loans that might need collateral like real estate or homes, most families are forced to set higher interest rates. Many pupils are therefore unable to attend the college. This is among the factors contributing to the 13% university attendance rate among Pakistani students.

Now, a larger group of Pakistanis students can access low-interest student loans through Edufi, which was launched by Aleena Nadeem in 2016. To approve borrowers and pay the institutions directly, Edufi, an acronym for "Finance Education," uses an artificial intelligence-based credit rating system.

Edufi was founded in 2021 and began making loan payments to Pakistanis last year after receiving regulatory approval. The borrowers then pay Edufi a monthly fee of 1.4%, which is significantly less than what most students can now afford. According to Nadeem, the average middle class currently cannot afford the college fees. The company's comprehensive strategy for qualified applicants has now been confirmed; today, less than one out of every 10,000 loans is not repaid.

As more people become aware of Edufi, Nadeem believes the company may play a bigger role in Pakistan's modernization and growth.

Edufi simplifies the loan qualification procedure with technology. In Pakistan, the primary borrower is the parent. An algorithmic credit rating system created by EDUFI takes into account the borrower's past financial transactions before transferring funds directly to the college on their behalf.

Additionally, Edufi works directly with universities to take into account the evaluations and payment history of students.

The borrowers pay back the loan each month, plus 1.4% in service fees. There is no need for a guarantee.

In February 2025, Edufi received its non-banking financial license. Through word-of-mouth, the business gained early traction last year and promptly made itself available to borrowers nationwide.

Since then, a lot of individuals have come to Edufi headquarters to make sure they are a legitimate organization, according to Nadeem.

Additionally, Nadeem frequently gets notes from Pakistani students expressing gratitude to Edufi for assisting them with their college education.

Following this year's approval of his model, Edufi intends to expand to Saudi Arabia. Lastly, he intends to make his loans available to Middle Eastern students. Nadeem believes that by adopting Edufi's strategy, student loans for students worldwide might be enhanced.

Nadeem claims that education is the fundamental tenet upon which a nation is built. "As a nation, we cannot advance until we make education as affordable and accessible as possible. To do this, Edufi allocates funds to the education sector, which is, to be honest, in urgent need of funding.
