Many parents complain that their children are becoming more and more apathetic as they grow up. They may complain, but the truth is that the seeds of this behavior are sown long before that, in childhood.

The strength of a child's relationship with their parents during adolescence depends on how much time they spend with them during childhood. It is the parenting style that provides a solid or weak foundation for the relationship.

Parenting Styles and Their Impact

Some parents have a controlling style of speaking, while others are more demanding. On the contrary, some parents are very kind, while some seem completely indifferent to their children.

Not only the attachment of children to their parents, but also the warmth in the relationships between children and other family members also depends to a large extent on the style of upbringing. Good relationships are built through good communication, and listening attentively to others is the first principle of communication.

If you are listening attentively to even the smallest thing your child says and are assuring him that you are with him in every situation, this act will strengthen the children's trust and confidence in you. Because of this trust, they will share everything with you.

The ideal style of upbringing is one in which parents listen to the child after listening to him completely, and on the other hand, the children also express the same passion and behavior. In this way, they teach the child to obey and also to obey in a better way.

Early Years Matter

One of the reasons for the weak relationship between parents and children is that parents do not give their children time at an early age. Children are usually sent to school at an age of less than three years. This is why they do not develop an emotional attachment to their parents, nor are they properly instilled with family, cultural and religious values.

A child’s education should start at least after the age of four to five so that he can spend as much time with his parents as possible. At this age, children learn very quickly, so parents should provide them with a good mental foundation.

The first big mistake made by parents after the start of their children’s education is to compare their children with other children. This practice, whether in school or outside, has a very bad effect on the children’s training. Similarly, it is also wrong for parents to give more importance to any one of their children.

Choosing the Right Educational Path

In the field of education, the choice of a particular field for children is very important. In this regard, when parents impose their will on their children against their interests, not only does it create a rebellion in the minds of the children, but they also consider it a burden on themselves.

Due to lack of interest in this field, their desire to move forward disappears. Sometimes there comes a time when children fail in these subjects after three or four years and say goodbye to their studies.

On the other hand, it should not be the case that parents accept their children's decisions blindly. Sometimes at this age, children are impressed by a particular field, but this does not mean that it is suitable for them. At this stage, children need the help of their parents.

The best strategy is to make children well aware of specific fields and then let them choose the field of their choice after completing their homework. The way to do this is to write down the different fields of interest of your children in one place, along with the quality of work and other possible outcomes related to that field.

Only after understanding this difference between liking and being able to do it well will children be able to make the right decision for themselves.

Building Confidence Through Freedom

Self-confidence in children's personality does not come suddenly. Parents have to try from childhood to make them confident. For this, they must be allowed to have safe adventures in a safe environment. The act of restricting everything affects their decision-making power as well as reduces their confidence. In this regard, it is also very important to give them opportunities to see the world outside the home.

Allow your children to mingle with other family members and also give them a chance to join family events. At this level, their confidence must be restored to such an extent that if they make a mistake, they can tell their parents.

By making a little change in the upbringing style and environment, you can provide your children with a good and strong foundation. On this basis, it will be possible to build their good personality in the future.
