Eligibility Criteria

Master's Eligibility:

Program Eligibility
MPhil English Linguistics
  • Applicants must have completed at least sixteen years of education or a four-year degree (minimum 120 credit hours) in English or an equivalent discipline after HSSC/FA/FSC/Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 in the semester system, or a Second Division in the annual system, in MA/BS English or an equivalent degree is required.
  • Candidates holding degrees in disciplines other than English will be required to complete deficiency courses and fulfill other requirements as outlined in the UE Admission & Examination Regulations 2023 for MS/MPhil/MBA Programs prior to the commencement of the MPhil English (Linguistics) program.
  • Applicants must pass the UE Entry Test with a minimum score of 50%. Alternatively, a score of at least 50% in the GRE (General), HAT (General), or any equivalent test conducted by an HEC-accredited testing body will also be accepted.
  • Note: The UE Admission & Examination Regulations 2023 for MS/MPhil/MBA Programs shall apply to all admissions to the MPhil English (Linguistics) program.
MBA
  • The eligibility of standard MBA program is 16 years degree in any discipline with minimum 2nd Division in annual system or CGPA 2.5 out of 4.00 in semester system, from an HEC recognized institution/university.
  • Passing GAT (general)/equivalent test as per university policy
MS Management Science
  • The eligibility of standard MS program is 16 years degree in management / business or related subjects with any specialization with minimum 1st Division in annual system or CGPA 2.5 out of 4.00 in semester system, from an HEC recognized institution/university.
  • Passing GAT (General)/equivalent test as per university policy.
MPhil Economics
  • MA/MSc Economics (2-year), BS (Hons.) in Economics, BS (Hons.) in Economics and Finance or equivalent qualification with economics background (minimum 2nd division for annual system and minimum 2.50 CGPA on a scale of 4.00 for semester system) from an HEC recognized institution/university.
  • Passing GAT (general)/equivalent test as per university policy.
  • Merit Calculation: for assessment and evaluation the University of Education, Lahore regulations shall be followed
MPhil Islamic Studies
  • Minimum CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 in the BS semester system or at least 2nd division in the annual system in MA/ Equivalent degree in Religious Literature/ Islamic Studies/ Equivalent Education is required to be eligible for admission in M.Phil. Program.
  • The applicants shall be required to take Subject Based Entry Test and meet the qualifying criteria.
MPhil Urdu
  • For admission to MPhil Urdu, the candidate must have completed MA Urdu or BS Urdu with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or Second Division.
  • Passing the UE Entry Test is mandatory for the candidate.

  • Following documents will be required for completion of online admission form.

  • Please note that after pressing the Submit button, applicant will not be able to edit the followings; however, the rest of the fields available may be edited.

  • Print the Fee Challan, deposit the prescribed admission processing fee in any branch of The Bank of Punjab (BOP) and get computer generated deposit receipt (Customer Copy).
  • Please note that printed application form / computer generated deposit receipt (Customer copy) need not to be submitted to the university but should be kept for record.
  • Only those applicants will be considered for admission who have deposited the prescribed admission processing fee (non-refundable).
  • Submit separate online application form for each campus/ program/ shift/ quota.
  • Separate admission processing fee(non-refundable) will be charged for each application form.
  • The applicants having unusual or non-standard qualifications (e.g. diploma, certificate, etc.) are required to seek equivalence (prior to applying online for admission) from Quality Enhancement Cell, University of Education, Lahore. They will have to submit equivalence form (which may be downloaded from UE Website (i.e. www.ue.edu.pk)) in Quality Enhancement Cell, University of Education, College Road, Township, Lahore and deposit prescribed fee.   • Merit Lists and Waiting List will be available on the URL https://www.ue.edu.pk/admissions/2025 as per scheduled dates mentioned in UE Admission Calendar available in UE Prospectus as well as uploaded on UE website (www.ue.edu.pk)

  • The applicants, whose names are displayed in the merit lists, will contact the Admission In charge of the relevant Division/Campus, along-with original educational documents, CNIC/Form-B and Father/Guardian CNIC, two sets of photocopies of all these documents.
  • After completion of verification process, the Admission Office of concerned Division/Campus will issue a fee Challan for deposit of Admission dues (Semester fee).
  • The applicant will deposit the fee in any Branch of the Bank of Punjab (BOP) within due dates and get the computer generated deposit receipt (Customer Copy); however, he/she needs not to submit the computer generated deposit receipt (Customer Copy) in the Division/Campus concerned but should be kept for record.
  • If an applicant does not submit the Admission dues (Semester dues) within due date, the admission offer shall stand cancelled.
  • Entry Test for MS/MPhil/ MBA & PhD will be conducted 4 times on different dates before commencement of admissions Fall 2025.
  • The validity of the test will only be the upcoming Admissions (i.e. Fall 2025) only.
  • Newcomers and repeat test takers can apply to retake the entry test after depositing the entry test fee.
  • If any applicant appeared twice/thrice in UE Entry Test and remained successful each time, then only the highest marks may be considered towards calculation of his/her merit.
  • Consolidated Merit Lists may be displayed after completion of three-layered UE Entry Tests for MS/MPhil/MBA and PhD programs.
  • The applicant has to select test center where he/she is interested to apply for the admission MS/MPhil and PhD program.
  • If the CGPA/Percentage is not mentioned on the transcript, the candidate must produce equivalent weightage from the parent university.
  • The University will conduct the test equivalent to GRE/HAT General developed at the University, with the passing score of 60%. OR accept a test equivalent to GRE/HAT General, conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC, with a passing score of 60%.
  • The successful applicants of PhD programs will appear for the interview at concerned UE Division/Campus (where applied for admission) on June 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (Reporting time will be 09:00 a.m. at their concerned UE Division/Campus).
  • After interview, 1st merit list will be displayed on University Website on June 30, 2025.
