The English Access Scholarship Program's 2024 premiere in Karachi was honored by the U.S. Consulate General. 

With 200 students enrolled, the program will offer English language instruction with the goal of preparing them for success in a globalized environment.

Consul General (CG) Scott Urbom stressed the importance of the program as a doorway to fresh possibilities and a better future during his speech at the inaugural event.

CG Scott Urbom stated that these students are creating new avenues for academic and professional opportunities by improving their English skills.

Along with teaching language skills, the curriculum will promote an awareness of American values and culture.

In addition, CG Urbom thanked the academic partners of the program, which include Sindh Madressatul Islam University, University of Sufism and Modern Sciences Bhitshah, and Sindh Agriculture University, Umerkot, for their dedication to the students' success. She also expressed gratitude to the hardworking instructors, coordinators, and staff at Evolution, the program's implementing partner.

This two-year program, which is sponsored by the Regional English Language Office at the U.S. Mission in Pakistan, provides academically brilliant but economically disadvantaged adolescents ages 13 to 20 with intensive English language instruction after school.

Students will be better equipped to contribute to Pakistan's socioeconomic growth, grasp American culture and democratic ideals, and have a better chance of getting into future academic and exchange programs with the United States thanks to Access.

The English Access Scholarship Program is an example of the US government's ongoing efforts to support educational programs in Pakistan and give young people the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly globalized world.

About 8,000 students in Sindh and Balochistan have benefited from the program since its start in 2004, giving them the tools they need to be successful in the global arena.
