According to reports, the Punjab interim government is considering handing over the management of Central Model School in Lahore to the Daanish Schools and Centres of Excellence Authority to turn it into a Centre of Excellence. However, teachers are against it due to the school's performance and history. Although a meeting occurred, no final decision has been made. Punjab Teachers Union suggested prioritizing other schools due to financial issues faced by educational institutions in Punjab. The school has a rich history dating back to 1883 and is known for providing high-quality education while maintaining traditions. Despite not having any students secure a position in recent Board examinations, the school maintained a 90 percent success rate in Matric examinations.
