Youth have become liabilities because only 6% of them have a high level of education, and 29% do not have access to one.

Speaking at the "Summer Fiesta" at Islamabad Model College for Girls, F-7/4, former inspector general of police Dr. Sultan Azam Temuri made this claim. The Tuesday presentation at the institution was organized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training.

Dr. Temuri gave insightful talks on success concepts, with a particular emphasis on young people, who make up 64% of Pakistan's population of 245 million. He emphasized the difficulties young people confront, such as their restricted access to excellent education and skill-building opportunities, which fuel intense competition and rising unemployment.

He also spoke about women's empowerment and gender equality. Pakistan is ranked 142 out of 146 in the Global Gender Gap Index 2023, with 49.6 percent of the population being female. This indicates that women's economic involvement and educational achievement are low in Pakistan. He underlined the importance of making use of this underutilized human resource and advancing the gender equality-focused SDG-5.

The pupils were counseled by the previous IGP to choose greatness above mediocrity. Dr. Temuri asserts that striving for greatness and pushing oneself beyond one's comfort zone are necessary for success.

He urged pupils to develop empowering beliefs with conscience, vision, passion, and discipline. He highlighted the value of having an optimistic outlook, thinking large, and making daily improvements to oneself.

He exhorted the pupils to turn setbacks into learning experiences, flaws into assets, and traumatic events into empowering convictions.

In her remarks, Additional Inspector General of Police Helena Iqbal Saeed stressed the value of self-control, diligence, and honesty while sharing her experience as the first female officer in Pakistan's Police Service. She pleaded for students to abstain from drugs and crime, as well as from corruption and quick cuts.
