For 2025, Oman has reopened its e-visa program, providing Pakistanis and other international students with a simplified application process to make short-term and educational travel easier.

By assuring quicker processing through the Royal Oman Police (ROP) E-Visa portal, the project seeks to improve accessibility.

Pakistani students can now apply for their visas online without having to go to consulates if they want to study in Oman or stay for a short time. Through the internet portal, applicants may quickly submit paperwork, pay, and get approved.

As part of the most recent changes, Oman has instituted an unsponsored tourist visa that frees qualified students from needing a local sponsor to go to the nation for short-term explorations or educational events. Those who are considering short stays during breaks in their studies or after graduation are anticipated to gain from this development.

Expanded access and policy changes

Now available to inhabitants of more than 100 nations, Oman's E-Visa program supports Muscat's goal of drawing in more foreign tourists, particularly students.

But as part of its Omanization policy—a government effort to boost job prospects for Omani citizens—the Sultanate has also implemented significant work visa restrictions, especially in the construction and hospitality industries.

Furthermore, beginning in 2025, foreign nationals, including students, will be required to obtain health insurance through their employers or sponsors.
