The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Associations (FAPUASA) has made an urgent appeal to greatly expand the education budget in fiscal year 2025-2026.

The leadership stressed the importance of teamwork in improving the higher education sector during a joint meeting with AGEGA at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad.

Expressing their serious worry over the PKR 65 billion higher education budget standstill since 2017.

FAPUASA added that even the Education Commission's recent request for a recurring grant of PKR 86 billion for FY 2025–2026 is much less than what colleges actually require financially, while being more than prior allocations.

PPSC Written Exams Postponed

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has decided to postpone all written exams that were originally planned for May 10 to May 12.

Given the continuous instability in the area, the decision was made as a precaution. Exams for a number of important positions in numerous sectors are impacted, including the assistant director positions in the Lahore Development Authority and the Labor and Human Resources Department and the Canal Patwari post in the Irrigation Department.

The initial schedule anticipated that more than 92,000 candidates would take the tests during this time. According to PPSC, an announcement regarding the updated timetable will be made later.

Candidates are encouraged to often check official announcements and the PPSC website for updates on the revised exam dates.
