Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is a world-class research university located in Lahore, Pakistan. It was established in 1985 with the aim of providing quality education to the students of Pakistan. Since then, LUMS has evolved into one of the top universities in the country, offering undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate programs in various fields of study.
LUMS was founded in 1985 by a group of businessmen and industrialists, including Syed Babar Ali, who wanted to establish a world-class institution of higher education in Pakistan. The university started with only one program, the MBA, and a small campus in Lahore. Over the years, LUMS has grown into a major academic institution with a large and diverse student body, a wide range of academic programs, and state-of-the-art facilities.
LUMS is accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). The university is also a member of several international academic organizations, including the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
LUMS offers a wide range of academic programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels. These include programs in Business Administration, Economics, Law, Engineering, Computer Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Sciences. The university has a faculty of over 400 highly qualified and experienced professors who are dedicated to providing quality education to the students.
LUMS has a large and diverse student body, with students from all over Pakistan and other countries. The university has a total enrollment of around 6,500 students, including approximately 4,000 undergraduate students and 2,500 graduate and post-graduate students. The student body is highly competitive and comprises some of the best and brightest students in Pakistan.
LUMS is consistently ranked among the top universities in Pakistan and South Asia. According to the QS World University Rankings 2022, LUMS is ranked #355 in the world and #1 in Pakistan. Additionally, LUMS is ranked 79th in Asia and 5th in South Asia.
