Private schools have been told not to collect additional fees in advance from pupils by the Sindh Education Department.
According to news, the Directorate of Inspection and Private Institutions has released a notification in this respect. It has been decided to solely collect tuition fees for matriculation students in April in order to lessen the financial strain on parents and students.
Refia Javed, Additional Director of Private Institutions Registration, spoke to all private schools and informed them that on December 23, 2024, the Directorate released a circular that contained decisions on the upcoming academic year and the yearly tests for the ninth and tenth grades.
In accordance with these rulings, directives were made to guarantee that schools only charge students taking the 2025 matriculation examinations for April fees, since those tests will be held in March.
Pre-primary through ninth-grade students, as well as those promoted from ninth to tenth grade in 2025, should also receive vouchers for June and July fees in April. These payments are due in June and July.
All private schools are directed to follow these rules to the letter. If any schools are discovered to be in violation of these guidelines, legal action will be taken.
Following the Christmas break, the Sindh Education Department declared that all of the province's schools would resume on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The department stated in a statement that all of Sindh's educational institutions started operating normally again on Wednesday.
According to the Education Department's earlier announcement, Sindh schools saw their winter break from December 21 to December 31. Due to extreme weather, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir education authorities decided to prolong the winter breaks.
A notification extending the holidays until January 4, 2025, was sent out, according to news outlets. The extension covered educational establishments in the region, both public and private.
