Punjab Govt Announces Rewards for Deserving Teachers

Following the announcement of this year's matric exam results, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat sent a harsh warning to Punjab school teachers.

The minister promised to honor all instructors who have continuously produced outstanding student outcomes in a Facebook post. He cautioned, nevertheless, that people with bad performance histories, especially those whose pupils consistently fail, ought to "start worrying."

His remarks follow the announcement of the matric results for the first annual exams of 2025 by all Punjab education boards a few days prior.

Data released by the Lahore-based Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) showed that the overall pass rate was 65.32 percent. 165,912 of the 254,012 students who took the test passed.

Pakistan Stands Out in Istanbul Speech Competition

In Istanbul, Turkey, a group of 21 talented students from Pakistan recently competed in the Istanbul University Model United Nations (IUMUN), which is regarded as the biggest and most prestigious speaking competition in Turkey.

Pakistan's representatives at this international event were students from Bayview Academy, Nixor College, Lahore Grammar School, Karachi Grammar School, and The Cedar School.

The Pakistani delegation won honors from four of the eight committees for their exceptional performance in this international competition. The Outstanding Diplomacy Award went to Ahmed Naseem Kharal and Yahya Jamali, while Ayla Tariq, Mantahi Kamran, and Vanya Umair received honorable mention for their outstanding work.

Including students from several Turkish cities, the competition attracted over 700 students from over 19 nations.

Most of the Pakistani students in the delegation were young, but they competed vigorously with college and university-level students. The three-day academic and diplomatic competition featured intense debates in 10 different committees.

Hosted by Istanbul University, the competition is one of the largest oratory competitions in Europe. Founded in 1453, the university has 57 different departments and 10,000 students from more than 143 countries.

Its notable alumni include former Turkish President Abdullah Gul and former Foreign Minister Taran Gunes. Its famous graduates include former Turkish President Abdullah Gul and former Foreign Minister Taran Gunes.
