The Punjab government has authorized a stipend package for college intern instructors of more than Rs. 4.21 billion, with the goal of assisting more than 8,000 intern teachers throughout the province.
The program's goal, according to officials, is to encourage recent graduates and students at the intermediate level to obtain real-world teaching experience in institutions.
For seven months, interns at the intermediate level would get a monthly stipend of Rs. 55,000, while interns at the BS level will receive Rs. 65,000 for ten months.
Experience certifications will be granted at the end of the internship, improving their employability and professional qualifications.
Forty seats have been set aside for transgender people, 243 seats for people with impairments, and 404 seats for minorities in order to guarantee equitable opportunity for everyone in the program.
The program's operational costs, including stipends, have been budgeted a total of Rs. 4.217 billion.
In addition to encouraging interns to actively participate in teaching, the Punjab government feels that offering monthly stipends relieves financial strains and frees up time for them to concentrate on gaining invaluable real-world experience.
Additionally, by fostering their professional development and skill development, this support will equip interns for long-term careers in education.
This action intends to elevate Punjab's education system, encourage inclusion, and assist aspiring teachers.
The government has also previously announced a school teacher internship program to support the youth of Punjab by giving them jobs. These initiatives have helped the government to fill vacant positions in schools.
Graduate students are very happy to join this internship program; it is helping them to learn new skills and use them for better employability.
