PMDC to hold MDCAT exam on Sep 22

The Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) for the year 2024 is scheduled to take place on September 22, president PMDC confirmed.
The MDCAT has received a total of 174744 applications, of which the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has finalised 167077 applications following review.
All universities have been instructed by President PMDC Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj to take all necessary steps to guarantee that the forthcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) is administered in a transparent manner.
According to him, taking this much-awaited test is crucial for students who want to pursue fulfilling careers in Pakistan's medical and dental sectors.
He underlined how crucial it is to preserve the MDCAT exam's integrity and make sure every student gets an equal chance to demonstrate their skills.
He noted that prominent public colleges around the country have been given the task of administering the MDCAT.
MDCAT Nominated Institutions
The following academic institutions have been nominated by the appropriate provincial and regional authorities to supervise the examination process: Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad (ICT, AJK); University of Health Sciences, Lahore (Punjab); Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi (Sindh); Khyber Medical University, Peshawar (KPK); Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences, Quetta (Balochistan); and Karakuram International University, Gilgit (GB).

Strict Security
To stop any cases of exam fraud or cheating, he ordered the colleges to put strong security measures in place. These included the use of biometric identification, surveillance cameras, and jammers.
In order to guarantee that exam proctors and staff are properly prepared to oversee and uphold exam regulations, the President PM&DC asked the institutions to furnish them with sufficient resources and training.
He made it clear that any instances of misconduct or cheating during the MDCAT exam would not be accepted and that those found guilty would face harsh consequences.
Overseas MDCAT Test Centres
With the MDCAT scheduled to take place in at least thirty locations around the country, including two overseas centres in Dubai and Riyadh, he said prospective candidates will have a great chance to demonstrate their commitment to and skill in the medical and dentistry fields.
