The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) is moving toward a fully digital system with online complaint handling and public grievance hearings, Dr. Imdad Ali, the council's director, announced Monday.
This will improve public accessibility and guarantee that medical education satisfies international standards.
In an interview with PTV News, PMDC's director described the council's continuous endeavors to raise the bar for medical education nationwide.
To guarantee that education is both affordable and of the highest caliber, he underlined the significance of solid public-private partnerships.
He also mentioned that these agreements are meant to fortify institutions and give students access to top-notch educational possibilities.
To try to increase openness and give individuals a better way to express their concerns, Dr. Imdad Ali also emphasized the implementation of an online complaint system and "Open Complaint Sessions."
The council's larger plan to increase responsibility in the medical education industry and interact directly with the public includes this project.
Dr. Ali stated that attaining international recognition through the implementation of a strict 10-year accreditation process for medical and dental institutions is a major focus for the PMDC.
He added that this action is meant to bring Pakistan's medical education into compliance with international standards and guarantee that graduates are adequately equipped to handle healthcare challenges around the world.
With the goal to preserve equity and quality in the student selection process, Dr. Ali also emphasized the significance of merit-based admissions.
He further added that in order to provide a diverse and welcoming learning environment that benefits both domestic and international students, the council is trying to draw in international medical and dentistry students.
This certification is a monument to the hard work and dedication of the whole PMDC team, Dr. Imdad Ali said in response to a question, describing it as an acknowledgment of PMDC's dedication to quality and its contribution to the worldwide medical community.
In response to another question, he said that candidates from 33 cities—from Karachi to Gilgit-Baltistan—will take the medical exam starting on October 26.
Dr. Ali underlined that the goal of this national assessment program is to guarantee merit-based selection and standardize medical admissions countrywide.
