The Oxford Pakistan Programme (OPP) achieved a significant milestone by obtaining pledges for three new scholarships and a £100,000 endowment to support Pakistan's most talented students.

The top exporter in Pakistan, Interloop Ltd., pledged to provide a scholarship for the ensuing three years through the efforts of entrepreneur and philanthropist Musadaq Zulqarnain TI.

British Pakistani benefactors Aneel Musarrat and Munir Hussain, who own one of the largest food businesses in the UK, both promised to finance a full OPP graduate scholarship for the following five years.

With the help of this extra financing, Pakistan's most brilliant and deserving students will be able to enroll in competitive courses at Oxford University, such as advanced computer science, theoretical physics, mathematics, genetic medicine, and many other cutting-edge subjects.

The announcement by Professor Sarwar Khawaja of a substantial £100,000 donation to the OPP's endowment fund added impetus and helped to institutionalize and maintain the organization over the long run.

Dr. Omer Suleman, an Oxford alumnus, and Shamyl Malik, co-founder of the financial technology company Haruko, sponsored the evening, which brought together OPP supporters, academics, and donors to honor the program's effect.

52 scholars, mostly from underprivileged areas of Pakistan like Sindh, Balochistan, and South Punjab, have received approximately £1 million in student funding from the OPP since its founding in order to attend Oxford.

Pakistan's demographic urgency was emphasized by the OPP's co-founders, who pointed out that two-thirds of the country's population is under 30, which is driving an unprecedented demand for educational possibilities.

The necessity of encouraging the British Pakistani population to pursue and succeed in their education in order to enable them to positively impact British society and public life was also discussed throughout the evening.

In her keynote address, Nobel Laureate and ardent OPP supporter Malala Yousafzai affirmed, "When you support the OPP, you invest in Pakistan's greatest resource: its kids." These academics will go on to head businesses, influence laws, and change communities, bringing about centuries of advancement.

The High Commissioner of Pakistan to the United Kingdom, Dr. Muhammad Faisal; Ms. Naz Shah, MP; the Principal of Lady Margaret Hall, Professor Stephen Blyth; Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh; and notable businessmen, professionals, and scholars from the United Kingdom were among those present.

OPP scholars gave testimonials at the event, and the government of Balochistan, the COSARAF Foundation, the Dunya Foundation, Ali Tareen, Malala Yousafzai, and an expanding network of philanthropists who provide partial scholarships were thanked as cornerstone donors.
