Maryam Nawaz Launches Phase-II Of Honahar Scholarship Program

On Monday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif officially launched the "Honahar Scholarship Program"'s second phase. 120,000 students over the next four years and 30,000 students annually will be covered by this initiative.

According to the chief minister, talented individuals can use this program to continue their study at respected Pakistani universities without worrying about funding. The Punjab government would cover 100% of the tuition fees for eligible students.

The initiative benefits students in 68 different fields at "65 universities, 12 medical and dental colleges, and 359 colleges in Punjab." Residents of Punjab who are under 22 and whose parents earn less than Rs. 300,000 per month are eligible to apply.

By highlighting the fact that 2,473 University of Punjab students have already been awarded scholarships, Maryam Nawaz highlighted the initiative's reach. Scholarships are being given to 2,570 students from the Rawalpindi Division today at this event.

Along with the fact that "1,660 scholarships" were awarded to students at public institutions and 637 scholarships to students at federal universities, she also mentioned that "1,886 students from UET Lahore" had benefited.

These scholarships were given to students at private universities for the first time in the history of the country.

As part of her mission to empower women, she has reserved 60% of the scholarships for female students.

"This is the true transformation that Punjab people are experiencing," she stated.

Maryam Nawaz also announced the opening of an "AI institution in Nawaz Sharif IT City Lahore" with the aim of teaching students advanced subjects like artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

She disclosed plans to give students laptops and 50,000 scholarships by the next year. "She wants to provide 100,000 worthy students with free e-bikes," she stated.
