With great pleasure, LUMS announces the OPP-LUMS Faculty Exchange Initiative, a collaboration with the Oxford Pakistan Programme (OPP). By bringing an Oxford University scholar to LUMS every year, this program will promote academic interaction and advance cooperative research.

On December 24, Dr. Talha Pirzada, co-founder and development lead of OPP, and Dr. Ali Cheema, vice chancellor of LUMS, signed an MOU to formalise this. Ms. Minahil Saqib, OPP's Outreach Lead, was also in attendance during the ceremony.

The initiative, which was generously supported by Syed Babar Ali, is to improve relations between the two universities and provide doors for reciprocal advancement in both research and instruction. As the "Syed Babar Ali-OPP Visiting Fellow," the visiting scholar will give talks, interact with teachers and students, and look into possible academic partnerships.

The project will initially target Oxford University students from Lady Margaret Hall. Scholars from other Oxford departments and colleges will be added to the program in later years.

In addition to highlighting a common commitment to promoting academic interchange and stimulating research innovation, this effort builds on the historical collaboration between LUMS and OPP.
