Introduction

Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) is a Public Limited Power Distribution Company mandated under its license to provide electricity to valuable customers in its jurisdiction. PESCO invites applications for the following positions under the World Bank-funded Electricity Distribution Efficiency Improvement Project (EDEIP):

1. Manager (Environment & Safe Guard)

Job Description:

  • Oversee and ensure implementation of environmental and social safeguard measures in compliance with World Bank policies and national regulations.
  • Lead environmental assessments, management plans, and mitigation strategies under EDEIP.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Prepare and review environmental safeguard reports.
  • Manage environmental risks and implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Liaise with relevant government departments and international organizations.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science from a foreign or HEC-recognized university.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Age: up to 45 years.

2. Gender Specialist

Job Description:

  • Provide expertise and leadership in integrating gender aspects into EDEIP planning and implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop gender action plans and ensure their effective implementation.
  • Conduct gender analysis and awareness sessions.
  • Monitor project activities for gender inclusivity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote gender equity.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree (MA/MSc) in Gender Studies from HEC-recognized institutions.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in government, semi-autonomous bodies, or private sector organizations of national/international repute.
  • Age: up to 40 years.

3. Assistant Manager (Occupational Health and Safety Specialist)

Job Description:

  • Implement and monitor occupational health and safety (OHS) practices across project sites and ensure compliance with regulatory and World Bank standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct OHS risk assessments and develop mitigation measures.
  • Promote safety culture and awareness among staff and contractors.
  • Ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety compliance.
  • Maintain OHS documentation and incident reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering/Environmental Science from HEC-recognized institutions.
  • OHS certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in OHS.
  • Age: up to 40 years.
