Transfers and postings within the province's Education Department are prohibited by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
An official announcement states that transfers and postings will only be available to employees who are awaiting promotion or appointment, and new hires would only be made through the Public Service Commission.
The department will henceforth fully adhere to the E-Transfer Policy for all transfers and postings, as mandated by the provincial education minister. Transfers and postings will be handled automatically throughout the summer and winter holidays in accordance with this policy.
The E-Transfer Policy would guarantee merit-based online transfers, according to Education Minister Arshad Ayub Khan, and a specific portal will be developed for this purpose.
Punjab Withdraws Teachers’ Conveyance Allowance
After being told to return the transportation allowance they were given during the COVID-19 school closure period, thousands of teachers in Punjab have voiced their concerns.
All school administrators have been instructed by the Education Authority Lahore to promptly gather and deposit teachers' allowances. The notification cautions school administrators that noncompliance will result in disciplinary punishment.
Teachers continued to receive their conveyance allowance during the coronavirus holidays, according to the authority, because the Finance Department did not withdraw it from pay at that time. The allowance must now be paid back in full, according to officials.
Teachers, however, have demanded that the government revisit the decree, calling it discriminatory and financially costly. Recovering payments from more than four years ago, they claimed, puts needless strain on the economy, particularly in the face of increasing inflation.
"Taking back the allowance after so many years is unjust," a teacher remarked. The department itself paid the sum; we were not at fault.
The provincial government has been encouraged by education circles to reevaluate the decision in order to shield teachers from financial difficulties.
