Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) is a leading public utility company in the power sector, serving millions of customers in Punjab, including Faisalabad, Chiniot, Sargodha, Jhang, T.T. FESCO is seeking the services of an experienced professional with legal expertise, managerial skills, and a thorough understanding of the power sector, as well as laws, rules, and regulations. The position being offered is Chief Legal Officer (CLO), a key role in managing legal affairs.
Job Description
The Chief Legal Officer (CLO) will be responsible for managing and leading all legal operations of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO). This includes providing strategic legal guidance, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, representing the company in legal and regulatory matters, and developing strategies to protect and promote the interests of FESCO.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all legal and regulatory affairs of FESCO.
- Develop and implement corporate legal strategies to protect and promote the company's interests.
- Represent FESCO in regulatory and legal proceedings, especially before NEPRA, PPRA, and other regulators.
- Lead a team of legal professionals in drafting and negotiating contracts and agreements.
- Manage all legal compliance issues for FESCO in coordination with relevant departments.
- Provide legal advice and opinions for cases, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure efficient delivery of legal services and solutions for FESCO's operations.
- Train legal teams to improve efficiency and support dispute resolution.
Requirements
- Understanding of ERP systems and technical solutions for utility companies.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing the power sector.
- Proficiency in legal drafting, reviews, and problem-solving for regulatory affairs.
- Leadership skills to build a high-performing legal team.
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) from a reputable HEC-recognized university. A Master's degree (LL.M) is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years practicing before the High Courts of Pakistan.
- In-depth knowledge of laws related to the electricity distribution sector and corporate governance.
- Proven track record of working with government and regulatory authorities.
