Eighteen-year-old British-Pakistani student Mahnoor Cheema broke four new world records by finishing 24 A-Level topics with high honors.
Between her prior GCSE achievements and her current six global academic records, she holds the most ever set by a secondary school student. Additionally, she was accepted to study medicine at the University of Oxford.
When Mahnoor finished 24 subjects and an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) on a single test board without repeating any parts to boost totals, she set the world record for the most separate A-Level topics taken and passed with distinction.
She earned 58 total, the fourth-highest number of individual courses completed with distinction, with 24 A-Levels and 34 GCSEs.
At 16, Mahnoor passed 34 GCSE courses and set a record with 17 A* grades in Year 10 and 34 A* grades overall in 2023.
Mahnoor told Geo News in an exclusive interview from her home in Langley, West London, that being accepted to Oxford was a childhood dream come true.
I'm ecstatic. In October, I'll be attending Oxford, and I can't wait to begin the next phase of my life. Although studying these subjects has been enjoyable, I'm happy to be moving on to achieve my career goal. "Thanks to my parents' unending sacrifices, I truly appreciate the privileged position I am in," she remarked.
After winning her GCSE, Mahnoor met with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at Stanhope House, where she received plaudits for bringing honor to Pakistan. She still makes use of the MacBook that the Sharif brothers gave her, even for her Oxford sessions.
Belonging to Mensa, the oldest high IQ society in the world, Mahnoor's creative endeavors and academic discipline highlight her remarkable array of skills.
