Eligibility
|
| English Literature |
- 18 years of education in related discipline with minimum CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 (in the Semester System) or First Division i.e., 60% (in the Annual System) in MPhil /MS or Equivalent with research work.

| Civil Engineering |
- 18 years of education in related discipline with minimum CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 (in the Semester System) or First Division i.e., 60% (in the Annual System) in MPhil /MS or Equivalent with research work.
- Percentage will be valid only if the CGPA is not mentioned in Degree/transcript.
- A subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) or ETS, USA in the area of specialization chosen at the PhD level must be cleared prior to admission for the PhD program.
- GAT (Subject) Test for Direct PhD program by NTS (Score 60%) or
- GRE (Subject) Test minimum by ETS, USA (Score 60 percentile).

| Computer science |
- For admission in PhD programs, a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the semester system) or First Division (in the annual system) in the most recent degree obtained is required, whether such was degree obtained from Pakistani or foreign universities.
- All applicants to PhD programs shall be required to take one of the following non subject specific admissions test:
- The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test administered by the Education Testing Service;
- A graduate admission test administered by the Education Testing Council; or
- With the permission of the HEC, an equivalent test developed by the university, or by another university, for admissions to graduate programs.
- Subject tests shall not be required for admission to most PhD programs, with the possible exception of certain science disciplines, at the discretion of the university.
