Bioinformatics	MPhil or equivalent in Bioinformatics/ Molecular Biology from HEC recognized university.
Biotechnology	MPhil or equivalent in any field of Biological Sciences from HEC recognized university. MBBS/DVM/Pharm-D are also eligible.
Environmental Science	MPhil or equivalent in any field of Biological/ Chemical/Environmental Sciences from HEC recognized university.
Microbiology	MPhil or equivalent in Microbiology or any field of Biology/Medical/Veterinary and related sciences from HEC recognized university.
Plant sciences	MPhil or equivalent in any discipline of Biological Sciences/ Botany/ Horticulture/ Forestry from HEC recognized university.
Pharmacy	MPhil in relevant subject with basic degree in Pharm-D, B-Pharm (4-years) from HEC recognized university.
Zoology	MPhil or equivalent in any discipline of Zoology/Animal Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry (except Plant Sciences) from HEC recognized university.
Chemistry	MPhil or equivalent in the relevant field of Chemistry from HEC recognized university.
Earth Sciences	MPhil or equivalent in the related field of Geophysics /Geology /Hydrogeology/ Seismology from HEC recognized university.
Computer Science	MPhil in Computer Science or computing related discipline or MS (18 years) in Computer Science or computing related discipline from HEC recognized university. Sample test is available at cs.qau.edu.pk.
Electronics	MPhil or equivalent in Electronics/Physics/ Information Technology/ Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Electrical Engineering/Telecommunication Engineering/ Computer Engineering from the HEC recognized university.
Mathematics	MPhil or equivalent in Mathematics from the HEC recognized university.
Physics	MPhil or equivalent in Physics from the HEC recognized university.
Statistics	MPhil or equivalent in Statistics from the HEC recognized university.

History	MPhil or equivalent degree in History, Pakistan Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology and other relevant subjects of Social Sciences from HEC recognized university.
Management Sciences	MS/MPhil degree or its equivalent in a relevant subject from HEC recognized university.
Psychology	MPhil or equivalent degree in Psychology from HEC recognized university.
Sociology	MS/MPhil Sociology from HEC recognized university.
History and Culture	MPhil social sciences or its equivalent in a relevant subject from HEC recognized university.

How to Register

Application Process:

• The applicants can apply through the Online Application System at QAU website (www.qau.edu.pk).
• The applicant is advised to deposit Rupees. 2650/- per each discipline as application processing fee via online payment through Kuick Pay or 1-Bill. However, if a student wishes to apply for more than one program, they must pay an additional amount of Rs.2650/- for each additional discipline.
• The payment receipt must be uploaded on the online Admission form along with other scanned requisite documents; otherwise application will not be entertained.
• Further details will be mentioned in Admission Notice QAU website.
• The applicants are required to scan & attach all academic documents along-with other relevant documents with Online Application for verification of data and determination of merit

Subject Test/Interview:

• The admission to PhD program shall be made on the basis of cumulative merit to be determined from previous academic record, University written subject test and interview. University is required to:
• Conduct the test equivalent to GRE/HAT/GAT General developed at the University, with the passing score of 70% OR
• Accept a test equivalent to HAT/GAT General, conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC, with a passing score of 60%.
• Accept a test equivalent to GRE International with a passing score of 60 percentile.
• The lists of pass applicants shall be displayed on the notice boards and at QAU website of the relevant Department/ Institute/ School/ Centre (DISC).
• Applicants appearing in the Entry Test must bring original CNIC for identification.
• If a test date is declared as holiday or for any reason, the test will be conducted on the next working day.

Admission Requirements:

• The minimum CGPA for admission is 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the Semester System) or First Division (in the Annual System) in MPhil/MS/Equivalent degree from HEC recognized university
• In case of in-service candidates, the applicants are required to submit NOC from the head of institution at the time of submission of PhD admission form.
• Further, he/she is required to submit study leave notification(s) preferably for three years (as a whole or year wise) at the time of joining the Department, failing to submit the leave notification the admission of the student shall be cancelled. The Chairperson of the Department/ Institute/School/Centre will ensure the study leave and report to the ASRB along with progress report.
• The candidates applying for admission are required to submit a copy of synopsis. Admission will be given subject to the availability of the Supervisor in the field of research strictly according to HEC's requirements. The applicants must provide official certificate showing percentage of marks obtained in MS/MPhil program.
