Eligibility
|
PhD Physics |
- A MS/MPhil degree with Thesis of 06 credit hours or its equivalent degree with Thesis of 06 credit hours, in the relevant field from an accredited educational institution, with minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (semester system) or 70% marks (annual system), and no third division (annual system) or D grade (semester system) throughout the academic career.
- GRE (subject) as per HEC policy or NTS GAT with minimum score of 60.

PhD Biosciences |
- A minimum of 18 years of education in a relevant field (Biosciences, Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, or a related field).
- A minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent is expected.
- A research proposal-outlining intended research project demonstrating understanding of the research area, highlighting the significance of the research, and outlining the research objectives and methodology.
- Appear for an entrance test, which assesses your aptitude and subject-specific knowledge.
- Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview. The interview aims to assess your motivation, research interests, and suitability for the program.
- Need to submit letters of recommendation from academic referees who can attest to your academic abilities, research potential, and suitability for doctoral studies.

PhD Meteorology |
- An MS/M.Phil. degree with thesis of 06 credit hours or its equivalent degree with thesis of 06 credit hours, in the relevant field from an accredited educational institute, with minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (semester system) or 70% marks (annual system), and no third division (annual system) or D grade (semester system) throughout the academic career. GRE (Subject) as per HEC policy or minimum score of 60 in NTS GAT Subject.

PhD Mathematics |
- An MS/M.Phil with Thesis or its equivalent degree with Thesis, in the relevant field, from an accredited educational institution with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (under semester system) or 70%marks (under conventional system) with no third division (annual system) or 'D' grade (Semester System) throughout the academic career.
- (b) GRE (subject) as per HEC policy, or NTS GAT (subject) with at least 60% marks (must be valid on the date of admission) or 70% score in any other entry test adopted by the university.
- (c) CUI result-awaiting students may be admitted provisionally in PhD programs at the CUI system. However, their admission shall be confirmed after being awarded MS degrees with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0.

PhD Bioinformatics |
- Completion of a minimum of 18 years of education in a relevant field (such as Bioinformatics, Biosciences, Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, or a related discipline).
- An expected minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.
- Submission of a research proposal that outlines your intended research project, demonstrating an understanding of the research area, the significance of the research, and the research objectives and methodology.
- Participation in an entrance test that assesses your aptitude and subject specific knowledge.
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview, which aims to evaluate your motivation, research interests, and suitability for the program.
- Submission of letters of recommendation from academic referees who can attest to your academic abilities, research potential, and suitability for doctoral studies.

PhD Computer Science |
- The candidates for PhD (CS) have to pass GRE (Subject) as per HEC policy or NTS GAT (Subject) with 60% or higher marks.
- The candidate should have a minimum of 18 years MS degree with min. CGPA 3.0 in Computer Science/ or relevant fields with no third division or D grade throughout academic career.
- The candidate's MS degree must be with Thesis.

PhD Chemistry |
- An 18 years degree (MS/MPhil) with thesis of 06 credit hours or its equivalent degree with thesis of 06 credit hours, in the relevant field from an accredited educational institution with minimum CGPA 3.0/4.0 (semester system) or 70% marks (annual system) and no third division (annual system) or D grade (semester system) throughout the academic career.
- GRE (subject) as per HEC policy or NTS GAT General with minimum score of 60.

PhD Economics |
- Minimum 3.0 CGPA out of 4.0 in the Semester System OR
- First Division in the Annual System in M.Phil./M.S./Equivalent with minimum 6 credit hours research work at MPhil/MS level is required.
- A subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) with a minimum of 60% marks is required for admission in PhD Economics Program.

PhD Molecular Genetics |
- Minimum of 18 years of education in a relevant field (Biosciences, Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, or a related field).
- A minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent is expected.
- A research proposal-outlining intended research project demonstrating understanding of the research area, highlighting the significance of the research, and outlining the research objectives and methodology.

PhD Electrical Engineering |
- MS/M.Phil. degree in the relevant field from an accredited educational institution.
- Minimum CGPA of 3 out of 4 (semester system) OR
- 70% marks (annual system).
- No third division throughout the academic career.
- NTS GAT Subject test minimum score of 60.

PhD International Relations |
- Eighteen-year education or equivalent degree in relevant field. MS or MPhil degree in the same or a relevant field (i.e. MS/MPhil in History, Political Science, Defense and Strategic Studies, International Politics Economy, Pakistan Studies and LLM from an HEC-recognized University )
- With a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (in the semester system) or 2nd division (in the annual system).
- A valid NTS-GAT Test with a 60% or above score

- No third division or D grade is allowed
- Applicants are required to submit a copy of synopsis/research work. Admission is subject to the availability of the Supervisor in the field of research and HEC requirements.
- In-service applicants have to furnish NOC from the employer through Proper Channel or submit it by the end of first semester
- Eligible foreign applicants are admitted subject to the provision of NOC/Equivalence Certificate from the HEC.

PhD Remote Sensing and GIS |
- An MS/M.Phil. degree with thesis of 06 credit hours or its equivalent degree with thesis of 06 credit hours, in the relevant field from an accredited educational institute, with minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (semester system) or 70% marks (annual system), and no third division (annual system) or D grade (semester system) throughout the academic career. GRE (Subject) as per HEC policy or minimum score of 60 in NTS GAT Subject.

- MS/M.Phil. degree in the relevant field from an accredited educational institution.
- Minimum CGPA of 3 out of 4 (semester system) OR
- 70% marks (annual system).
- No third division throughout the academic career.

PhD Management Sciences |
- MS/M.Phil or an equivalent degree in the relevant field from an accredited institution, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or 70% marks. Additionally, applicants should have no third division or D grade throughout their academic career.
- Achieve a minimum score of 60% on the NTS (subject) test.
